Imagemanagement with mixed RAW, RAW+JPEG and JPEG only albums?

Hi everybody,

sinde I work with lightroom I have a consistent RAW only workflow.

But from prior times I have a mess of RAWs and JPEGs that I need to somehow include into LR.

The situation:

JPEG only Albums (JPEG contains all meta data)

RAW + JPEG (+ JPEG) albums, where the JPEG comes from shooting RAW+JPEG (only the JPEGs where managed and contain meta data, but sometimes I did develop the RAW and there exists another JPEG)

RAW ( + JPEG) albums, where the JPEG comes from a earlier used RAW converter and only the JPEG contains meta data like rating and keywords

RAW (+ XMP) (+ JPEG) albums, where the JPEG comes from a earlier uesd RAW converter and there is a xmp sidecar for the RAW with the relveant ratings and keywords + the jpeg from that RAW converter with the same meta data.

RAW only albums (havte them since I use lightroom and I am very happy with this RAW only workflow, though I might later batch convert all good rated RAWs to JPEG so be save for the future when my RAW files are not supported any more )

Right now I work with filters that search for images with ratings and keywords

-> but if only the JPEG contains that info I do not see if there is a RAW file available that I could use to get better JPEGs (yes I did get better )

What I would like to have:

One single entry for each RAW+JPEG pair. -> probably stacking? but will a search retrieve the stack if only the second element like the JPEG contains that search querry match?

Sync the meta data from the JPEGs back to the RAWs the RAW does not contain any meta data

If there is a RAW + JPEG where the JPEG comes from the previous RAW converter have the JPEG on top of the Stack so I can see the image as I developed it.

I know it is a mess, but searching my whole catalog is very tedious with this situation in LR now.

Any ideas?

All the best,

   Andi
